Description
The Cabernet Rosé Pioneer
Mulderbosch was one of the first South African estates to prove that Cabernet Sauvignon makes an world-class rosé. For this sparkling version, the grapes are harvested early to maintain a high natural acidity and a lower alcohol level. The wine is handled with the same care as a fresh Sauvignon Blanc—cool fermented to lock in those primary fruit aromas—before being infused with fine bubbles to create its signature lively mousse.
Tasting Profile & Sensory Experience
A refreshing and aromatic sparkling wine that leans into the “sweet-and-fresh” fruit spectrum:
The Appearance: A beautiful and trendy pale rose-gold hue with an energetic, frothing bubble.
The Nose: An explosion of fresh summer aromatics—think sliced strawberries, ripe watermelon, and a nostalgic hint of pink candyfloss, backed by a subtle Cabernet herbaceousness.
The Palate: Light, zesty, and incredibly easy-drinking. The bubbles lift the fruit flavors to the forefront, offering a creamy texture and a palate filled with red berries and stone fruit.
The Finish: A clean, mouth-watering finish with a lingering crispness that invites another glass.
Why Stock a Case of 6?
The “Crowd-Pleaser”: Because it is fresh, fruit-driven, and less “serious” than an MCC, it is a guaranteed hit at baby showers, kitchen teas, and pool parties.
Winter Brightness: In the heart of the South African winter, this wine serves as a brilliant reminder of summer—perfect for a sunny afternoon braai or as a bright aperitif before a heavy meal.
Casual Food Pairing: It doesn’t need fancy food to shine:
The Perfect Match: Simple grilled chicken, smoked salmon salads, or a sushi platter.
Spicy & Light: Great with spicy Thai salads or fish tacos.
Summer Treats: Pairs wonderfully with fresh strawberries and cream or goat’s cheese with a citrus vinaigrette.
